thank you all, i really do think a space feels more lived in if it has a mix, of both .at lunch today with my very talented designer friend we were discussing this idea and she agreed .
Artist and jewelry designer ,
I am searching for a balance between color and texture, i apply many layers of paint and will scratch, sand , and wipe away to reveal what lies beneath the surface of my artwork. I am very drawn to the idea of "wasbi wabi", the art of the imperfect , and it is often revealed in my jewelry designs and artwork. visit my new website penningtonpleis.com
Oh the second image is so beautiful! I love the patina of the brick and how its not too perfect but so naturally worn.

i like both also. lately, i'm inspired to make my spaces both modern/clean and organic/raw. very much wabi-sabi. :)
